Common Questions

Notes on Reading, Submissions & Style

A few practical answers for readers, contributors, and anyone curious about how the magazine works.

How often is a new issue published?

We publish a new issue every two months, with shorter visual essays and interviews appearing in between. Each issue is built around a single theme, and we take time to shape the stories so they feel considered rather than rushed.

Do you accept submissions from emerging designers and photographers?

Yes. We review portfolios and pitch notes throughout the year, with a focus on original work that speaks to identity and personal style. Send a short introduction, a link to your portfolio, and a few words on the story you would like to tell. We reply to every serious inquiry, usually within two weeks.

Is the magazine available in print?

Currently we are a digital publication. A limited print edition of selected essays and visual stories is planned for later this year, and subscribers will be the first to know when it becomes available.

How do you choose the designers and stylists you feature?

We look for people with a clear point of view, whether they work with traditional craft, found materials, or a distinctive approach to styling. The goal is to highlight voices that are not already everywhere, and to give them room to explain their process in their own words.

Can I pitch a visual essay or a wardrobe-building guide?

Absolutely. We are always open to ideas that treat clothing as a form of self-portraiture. Send a short outline, a few reference images, and a note on why the story fits the magazine. If the idea is a good match, we will work with you to develop it.

How can I get in touch with the editorial team?

The simplest way is to write to us at info@rezadupuis.com. Whether it is a question about a story, a correction, or a submission, we read everything and respond personally.

Notes & Clarifications

A Few Words on Scope

The editorial work published here is shaped by a set of working definitions. These notes are meant to keep the conversation clear, not to limit it.

On Personal Style

When we speak of personal style, we mean the deliberate, evolving choices a person makes about clothing over time. It is not about trend adherence or seasonal novelty, but about the consistent expression of taste, habit, and self-understanding.

On Emerging Designers

The label "emerging" applies to designers who are early in their public trajectory—those who have not yet achieved wide commercial recognition but whose work demonstrates a clear point of view. We prioritize craft, narrative, and originality over market presence.

On Visual Essays

A visual essay, as featured in these pages, is a sequence of images arranged to convey an argument or mood about dress and identity. It is a collaborative form, involving photographer, stylist, and subject, and it is judged by its coherence, not its spectacle.

On Wardrobe Building

Practical guides to wardrobe building assume a finite budget and a real living space. We do not promote accumulation for its own sake. The aim is a functional, expressive set of garments that serves the wearer across the contexts of their actual life.

On Cultural Expression

Fashion is treated here as one register of cultural expression, alongside language, ritual, and social practice. Our coverage is attentive to context and avoids flattening regional or subcultural differences into a single narrative.

On Editorial Independence

All interviews and essays are produced without external sponsorship or brand approval. The opinions expressed are those of the contributors alone, and no garment or label receives preferential treatment in exchange for access.
